Ok so after a soccer and work filled weekend i make it back to my personal blog. With the school beginning again….idk how much i will have to devote to it but ill try and make the casual post. The continuing lack of attention to the situation in the west bank is at a fever pitch. Now with the Golden Globes (i thought they got rid of those) the assent of a new American President and a few other things (like bears) seem to be on the minds of most locals and America. Now dont get me wrong…..but i get the feeling this event that i have been blogging about seems to be out of the loop not because of its noteworthiness but because of its extreme complexity.Now im no scholar on foreign policy nor am i a muslim or jewish or catholic or christian. so neutral i think is something i can do when i TRY! to explain this.
Here it goes.
This WHOLE conflict has 2 main problems. 1) Clashing Religions and 2) The “new” country of Israel.
Now in 1946 with the end of WWII and the massacring and dispersement of Jews through various nations, the UN headed by the United States, Great Britain and Russia needed to kinda give the Jewish people a “home”. With these big 3 in there corner the Jewish nation seeked an area in the holiest of city’s. Jerusalem. To comply they removed the Country of Palestine from its location moved it to just right next to Jerusalem. This i believe is the beginning of the problem. Its like if some one wanted your house.You say no and later that day3 armed bullies came in and “peacefully” moved you next door to a tin shack. After this it was pretty much a given that there was no way that the Middle East would ever be the same. Heres where conflicting religions come in. THE ENTIRE middle east and the Arabian peninsula IS and WILL more then likely remain Muslim. So in the mid-50′s early 60′s we see a JEWISH state in precisely this volatile area. You would think this would be like feeding a cat to the alligators right? Wrong. The US Army took out LUCRATIVE contracts on arming the Israel Army. Magically Israel went from a non-existent army to the 4th largest in the world.
So how does this bite America in the Ass? 2 reasons. 1) we now have a VERY well armed JEWISH country in the Middle East and 2) we have Muslim country’s watching Muslims get killed by American weapons.
